GUARDS AT NUCLEAR PLANT VOTE FOR NEW
UNION
Security guards at the South Texas Project nuclear plant
near Bay City voted last week to be represented by a relatively small
Washington, D.C.-based union.
In an March 13 election, 62 guards cast votes
for the National Union of Protective Services Associations in an election held
at the plant, according to the National Labor Relations Board. The group that
previously represented the guards, Security, Police, Fire Professionals of
America, received two votes. A third group, the United Government Security
Officers of America, received 14 votes.
