UPDATE ON PG&E “MISSED MEALS”

The effort to compensate PG&E employees for missed or late meals continues. Most members of the Group 1 and Group 2 shift employees have received payment.

The largest unresolved group within Group 1 and Group 2 are Gas Service Representatives and Troublemen and their issues are being worked through.

Several classifications remain in dispute at Diablo Canyon and Building Services. Local 1245 Business Representatives Joe Osterlund and Bob Dean have met with PG&E representatives 25 times since August and in between these meetings have had constant contact with the company.

The next—and larger—task is Group 3, non-shift employees whose regularly scheduled off-duty meal period was either delayed or not given. To analyze the 15 million time cards in at least 30 different formats that are in question, the parties have turned to a consulting firm of statisticians. We are meeting with the statisticians on Feb. 4. Joining the IBEW committee for this meeting will be San Rafael Troubleman Vince Zinkl, Hydro payroll clerk Ken Amaral, and Customer Service Representative Joe Estrada.
