DIABLO CANYON TO REPLACE FOUR STEAM GENERATORS

The next refueling outage at PG&E’s Diablo Canyon Power Plant is slated to start Feb. 4 and last for 69 days.

This is the biggest outage DCPP has faced. PG&E is replacing all four steam generators in Unit 2. The outage (called 2R14 for the 14th refueling of Unit 2) has brought over 1000 extra workers from around the country. Many have been at DCPP for three or four months, and many will stay through the next steam generation outage at Unit 1.
