Employees have successfully petitioned to include their classification in the IBEW Local 1245 bargaining unit at Pacific Gas & Electric.
On April 25, a representative from Restructuring Associates Inc. verified that a majority of employees on the employment list provided by the company had signed cards affirming their desire for union membership. This confidential “card check” procedure is spelled out in the “Neutrality Agreement” between the union and the company.
The organizing effort was spearheaded by Local 1245 Business Rep. Kit Stice. The card check was conducted in the presence of Local 1245 Business Representatives Landis Marttila and Junior Ornelas and company representatives Jeff Delaney and Margaret Short.
The Project Management and Technical Services Inspector A Unit are now represented by the IBEW. We welcome these employees to the union.
