NEW WEBSITE DESIGN MAKES IT EASIER TO FIND WHAT YOU NEED

The new IBEW Local 1245 website has been redesigned -- with you in mind. The central panel of the home page has been divided into sections so that you can more easily find the news that you’re interested in.  The sections bundle stories together under these headings:

• Local 1245 News
• PG&E News
• NV Energy News
• Outside Construction News
• Line Clearance Tree Trimmer News
• Public Sector News (including city utilities, municipal utility districts, public utility districts, rural electric co-ops and associations, state and federal power agencies, water agencies, transit districts, and irrigation districts)
• Safety News

In addition, news about the latest developments in the nation’s energy sector is collected together in Energy Trends.

News about labor issues and other economic news of interest to working people can be found in News Almanac.

Almost all of the features from our old website can still be found, but they may be in new locations, including member photos, photo albums of job sites,  labor agreements, and unit meeting schedules.

We are also working to develop a document library for PG&E stewards conducting research for grievances. The Contract Section Index continues to be available on our site, and during 2010 we will be scanning and posting all Pre-Review Committee, Review Committee, and Arbitration decisions, as well as Letter Agreements in a searchable data base. All Review Committee decisions dating back to the early 1950s have already been posted, and the scanning of Pre-Review Committee decisions is well underway.

The new website will host videos of interest as they become available, and we invite members to submit short videos for possible posting. We are still ironing out some technical issues and working out a procedure for members to submit photos, but video programs should be up and running soon.

We are also in the final stages of creating an on-line forum -- the Bullroom -- exclusively for IBEW Local 1245 members—a place to voice opinions, exchange ideas, and hopefully build a better, strong union.
